About The Event
Imbolc is one of the eight ancient Celtic festivals of the year and occurs midway between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. Sometimes referred to as the ‘festival of earth awakening’, Imbolc is seen as a time when the energies of spring are stirring, and the land is beginning to wake from its winter sleep. Imbolc is associated with the goddess Brigid, whose life-giving waters are said to flow from springs and holy wells.
Even though we will be celebrating the early signs of Spring, it will still be cold outside, so it is wonderful to have a beautiful, old country house to gather in with other Wild Women, meeting friends old and new. We will be staying in the beautiful Glendun Lodge in Cushendun, just a short walk from the beach and village. We will gather rushes to make St Brigid’s crosses, following the traditional customs for this time of…
